Baby's First...

Food!  Mary Frances has a lot of "firsts" this month.  First sippy cup, first Christmas, first Christmas parties and today was her first baby food!  We started with rice cereal this morning and it was a lot of fun :)  I don't think I had too many expectations.  I wasn't really sure how she would react to the cereal, but considering she doesn't eat anything on the days I am at work, I wasn't sure she would even take any of the cereal.

Mary Frances did great, though, and made it fun for us.  We are using Earth's Best rice cereal and used the bowl my mom fed me out of as a baby.  Mary Frances loved hanging out in her highchair and looked like she was just lounging around.  She let me put the first spoonful of baby food in her mouth, but after that, she didn't want me to put the spoon near her mouth!  Paul and I just took it slow and each got our own bowl of cereal so that she could see us eating with a bowl and spoon.  She couldn't take her eyes off of Paul eating!  I kept trying with the spoon and cereal and eventually she starting smacking her lips whenever I put the spoon to her lips.  All in all, I don't think she actually got very much cereal in her belly, but I do think she started to like it by the end.  We will try again tomorrow!
