7 months

Margaret is seven (and a half - whoops!) months old.  Literally I blinked and a month has passed.  Really a month and a half at this rate.  A friend asked me the other day what we have been up to.  Honestly, I couldn't put my finger on one particular thing other than taking care of two young children.  So, I better get this post written on Margaret at seven months before she turns eight months old!
Smiling for Mommy
Paul and I have both commented recently on how we had forgotten how much we love this age!  Margaret is really starting to get a little personality.  She can be a ham and loves to smile and laugh.  Her favorite person is by far Mary Frances.  If she so much as hears big sister's voice in the house she is turning to find her.  Margaret seems much more motivated physically than Mary Frances was at this age.  She loves to sit and reach for toys, turns around on her stomach and I don't think it will be too much longer before she is mobile.  Margaret is also just as easily content being held or sitting in your lap, with a toy in hand, of course.
Sweet girl!
Here are some antidotes about Margaret at seven months of age:
- sleeps 12 hours at night and takes 3 naps during the day
- nurses 4 times a day with 3 feedings of baby food
- LOVES green food like peas, avocado, green beans.  She also loves carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, pears, yogurt, and her rice and oatmeal cereals.
- Margaret is in size 3 diapers
- she is learning cause and effect and will drop a toy multiple times to see what happens
- she loves to be held and has started to protest when I put her down to play or put her down to sleep
- that girl is fast with her hands and grabs anything before you realize it (i.e. plates of food, phones, etc)
- she loves to chew on the tags of her toys - so strange but she does it on every single one
- says 'dada' some, but mostly squeals and squawks with delight
- Margaret loves to lay her head on you and give big open mouthed kisses - hmm!
- she is just so stinking sweet!
- starting to wave
Look at those eyes on Big Sister!
Margaret's first play date with her friend Mary Jane

We have had some rough weeks with Miss Margaret this past month.  She got an ear infection which made for a rough week (especially before I realized what was going on) and was still working on her first tooth.  Seriously, if the first one was so hard, I am afraid what the others are going to be like.  Maybe they won't be as bad.  Last week she broke out in idiopathic hives (mainly we couldn't figure out where they came from) which have since resolved.  Thankfully she seems to be feeling better and back to being a happy baby.

Playing like a big girl!
There are so many little things I could say about Margaret.  Mostly, we love having her around and have a hard time remembering life before her.  Mary Frances has recently enjoyed having me tell her the story of "The Day Margaret was Born"over and over.  Can you tell someone loves being a big sister?  Margaret is loved, that is for sure!

Love,
Katy
