4 months!

This past month seems to have flown by.  The saying, "the days are long but years are short" is so true!  I guess in our case it is the days are long but the months are short!  Our sweet little lady is growing right along and changes every day.  At her 4 month check up this morning she weighed 17 lbs 12 oz and measured 26 1/2 inches long!  She is off the charts in both height and weight!  She is becoming more aware of her surroundings all the time.  Since we spend a lot of time together, I have noticed she has started watching my every move.  If I put her down to do something, her little head turns where ever I go.  I hope I am setting a good example for our sweet Mary Frances!

Our monthly photo shoot :)
Here are some ways she has changed in the past month:
- she can look at something and reach for it intentionally, grabbing it as well (not 100% accurate, but we're working on it!)
- she smiles and giggles a lot
- she can hold her toys (and get them into her mouth!)
- she has a lot better head control and loves sitting in the bumbo Aunt Sally gave her
- she graduated from sleeping in her swaddle blanket to the sleep sack; a seamless transition, I might add
- when she is being held, she loves to rest her hands on your arms
- she likes to grab my face when she's eating
- she loves to hold her hands together (think The Sound of Music)
- she also loves to grab her dresses and try to get them in her mouth

As you can see, our little lady is wanting to sit up
and move around!
Since Mary Frances has become more in tune to her surroundings, we thought it would be fun to take her to the aquarium.  When we were at the beach with my family this summer, we ate at a restaurant with a fish tank.  When Mary Frances got fussy, I took her over to look at it and she loved it!  Needless to say, she loved looking at the whales, sharks, otters, fish, etc at the GA Aquarium on Saturday.  Here are some pictures from our trip.

These brightly colored fish were her favorites, as you can
tell from her face in the picture above

This has been a great month and we can't wait to see what changes come between now and 5 months!

Love,
Katy
