This past weekend we skipped on up to Greenville, SC for Furman Homecoming and my 5 year class reunion. We had a great time with my best college friends at the Tri Delta Alumni Brunch, Furman football game, dinner at Brickstreet Cafe and brunch at High Cotton. It was a short trip, but we loved every bit of it. Mary Frances LOVED meeting all of my friends and their spouses/significant others. Of course now she is dying to go to Furman and be a Delta! One day... Paul and I also loved getting to spend time with my group of friends. There is just something special about the girls you live with during college. You share so much together (good and bad!) that it is hard to replace those special friendships!
As a tribute to my 5th reunion, here is a top 5 list of "Why I Love Furman University!"
5. I get to wear things that say "FU"
This is one of my favorite t shirts! Of course it means Furman University, but it is fun to get funny looks from strangers when I wear it. Especially when I wore it pregnant!
4. Furman's Fountains and Beautiful Campus

Who wouldn't love living in a place this beautiful?! The campus is one of the most beautiful college campuses in the US. Some of my favorite memories are from walking around the lake and campus with friends and fountain hoping during O week as a freshman!
3. Downtown Greenville

| Fun friends at Brick Street Cafe for dinner |
I love downtown Greenville! There is one main street with several locally owned stores and restaurants. In the west end of downtown is Reedy River Park and a suspension bridge over the Reedy River Falls. Paul and I love to go visit Greenville just for the weekend.
2. Tri Delta
 |
| My pledge class our Junior year |
It may sound silly that a sorority is my second favorite thing about Furman, but Tri Delta was much more than that for me! It was a place where I learned a lot about friendship, leadership and responsibility. I made such wonderful friends here and was provided the opportunity to learn so much from each of them and grow in ways I never would have if I hadn't joined. I am not sure why they picked me, but I am forever grateful they did!
1. These girls!

| My Furman Roommates! |
This reason is very similar to the second, but these girls are much more than just sorority sisters. They are some of my dearest friends and I am so thankful for each of them! I wouldn't have made it through Furman without them; they are some of the greatest blessings in my life! We had a wonderful weekend with all of them and are thankful that everyone made an effort to come to Homecoming. I am looking forward to many reunions in the future!
Love,
Katy
