Bucket List

I've been thinking about writing this post for a while now, although I haven't actually sat down to do so until now.  I never saw the movie The Bucket List, but like the idea of having goals to accomplish in this lifetime.  That said, I do not actually have a Bucket List written down anywhere.  However, I have had one item on my mental "to do list" since high school which I was able to check off this past May.  It was to see James Taylor in concert!

James Taylor
I grew up listening to James Taylor.  My dad loves music and instilled in us a love for oldies and soft rock from the 1960's and 70's.  James has always been my favorite, though.  My favorite song used to be Sun on the Moon.  We would listen to it on the cassette tape in the car over and over and over again!  Now that I am old enough to understand the words, it was probably not the best choice, but it was the middle of the song that we liked the most.  James sang "Bow wow wow, honk your horn, honk your horn..."  Silly I know, but it was a hit between Sally and me!

On the way to the beach; undoubtedly we would have listened
to James on the way there :)
As if that isn't enough reason to love James, Paul and I danced our first dance as husband and wife to How Sweet it is to be Loved by You.  Many more of his songs bring back specific memories of time with friends, driving back and forth between college and home, beach trips, etc.  His voice is like honey and I could fall asleep listening to it every night!

Our first dance
Now, imagine my delight to see him in concert at Chastain on a perfect May evening with my favorite people, Paul and Sally!  My parents had given me the tickets for my birthday back in March and it was one of the best birthday presents I have ever received.  All three of us loved every minute of the concert and it could easily rank as the best concert I have ever been to.  James played all of my favorite songs (there are many) and he was not pretentious and very funny.  I would love to see him again!

Me and Sally
Thank you Mom and Dad for an evening we will never forget!

Love,

Katy
