A few weeks ago, these six girls, along with their mommies and daddies went to Sandestin, FL for a long weekend! And what a great weekend it was!

| Sweet girls! |
Jenny and Chris Camp so generously invited us to go with them to their mom's house in Sandestin for a long weekend in September. Our family, along with the Donalds and Sutherlands, made for a total of 8 adults with six children, all of which are sweet little girls! We had a crazy house full of people, but it was so worth it and so much fun.
The weekend started like this: Wednesday, the moms and girls from Atlanta all piled into Mary Catherine's dad's suburban {Charlotte and Mary Stewart in the back, Ashley, Anna Caroline and Mary Frances in the middle, and me and Mary Catherine in the front}. We rode like this for 7 hours from Atlanta to FL and the girls were champs! I think between all four of them the cumulative number of hours slept in the car was less than 4. Needless to say, they slept great that night! At least they had each other to stay entertained. And props to Ashley for sitting in the middle and handling all four little ones and also to Mary Catherine who drove the entire way down. What true friends I am blessed with!

The Camps met us down there late Wednesday night and Mary Frances had so much fun waking up to a house full of girls the next morning! Chris was a trooper, being the only male for an entire day. We had so much fun at the pool and hanging around the house until all of the dads arrived just in time for the LSU football game Thursday night. Not another word need be said, the moms were gone for a girls night out! What a treasured time with great girlfriends. Wish we could do it more often.

After all of that effort to make it to the beach in FL, you would think we were at the beach every day. However, Friday was the only day we actually made it to the beach. It takes a lot more than you think to get 14 people from the house to the beach. We had a great morning in the sand, though. After Mary Frances' fun weekend in Hilton Head, I was hoping for a repeat excitement over the beach in FL. Much to my dismay, Mary Frances wasn't as thrilled to be back at the beach as we were. She was okay with the sand on her feet, but definitely not interested in venturing off on her own like she was in HH. That's okay, though. We still got to enjoy sweet time with friends on the beach.

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing in the house, watching football, shopping, playing on the playground, going to the pool, dinner at the Red Bar and enjoying adult time after the kids went to bed. We are so thankful for these friendships! To me, these couples are extra special because they are some of the first friends Paul and I made together as a married couple in our first few years of marriage. All of my married friends know how special this is. We are blessed that in this group of 4 couples that not only the wives enjoy being together but the husbands too! What a rare and beautiful treasure!

So, thank you again, Jenny and Chris! We had so much fun and cannot wait until the next time we can all be together!
Love,
Katy
