This Thanksgiving we had so much for which to be thankful; our family, jobs, a home, health, etc. However, the most precious thing I have been thankful for this year is the fact that God always keeps his promises. As we have been involved in teaching the three year old Sunday School class at church, each week we end the lesson with the reminder that God always keeps his promises. His promise to Adam and Eve, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David, Zechariah, etc. In every lesson we taught the children, God had kept the very promises he had given to each his people. And the even greater promise kept was that of a savior. How wonderful that despite my disobedience and my hard heart God has kept his promise to me and brought me a Savior to bring me out of the pit of my despair and self destruction. How can we not give praise and thanksgiving?!
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations!
Psalm 100
Love,
Katy
