Every mother is so proud of their child. It is not something you understand until you become a mother, but your love and pride for your child are beyond words. Mary Frances is not yet 20 months old and I have been so proud of her on multiple occasions (more than I can count). I remember the first time I saw her purposefully reach for a toy as an infant. My heart was overcome with pride and joy and I ran to reach for the video camera and capture it on video. It is amazing how so much pride and joy can overflow from your heart for such a small being!

| Happy little thing |
Today, one of my proudest moment's as a mother to date happened at our weekly music class. This is now our third session with
The Music Class. Each week we sit in a circle and during part of the class the teacher invites children to take turns sitting in her lap and "singing a bum bum." Mrs. Katherine will pick a tone or a rhythm and sing "bum bum bum" to the child while he or she listens. The child then repeats the tone or rhythm in front of the entire class. Each week I ask Mary Frances if she would like to take a turn singing a bum bum in Mrs. Katherine's lap. Each week she says "no," or will walk up to Mrs. Katherine and then run away.

Well, today, I asked Mary Frances if she wanted a turn in Mrs. Katherine's lap and she ran up, plopped right down and sang a bum bum! I was SO proud of my little girl for all of the courage and self confidence it took to sing in front of the entire class! My heart was filled with joy!

Way to go, Mary Frances! May this be just the beginning of you doing many wonderful things and know that I am always proud of you!
Love,
Katy
Katy, I love reading all about your Mary Frances. The joy you feel in being a mother - especially Mary Frances' mother - is so apparent in every word!
