Santa Rosa

I started this blog post about a month ago.  Needless to say, I am just now sitting down to finish it.  In my absence we have been busy with everyday life and getting into the swing of our fall routine.  I have been one tired mama and put the blog on the back burner.  Now that it is almost fall, I need to blog about our family beach trip!  So, here it goes!

About a month ago, we got back from our annual beach trip to Santa Rosa, FL, with my family.  We had a great time, and I can say with 100% certainty, this is the best beach trip we have had since Mary Frances was born!  This was the first time Mary Frances actually was able to and did enjoy the sand, pool and ocean (last day only) and boy did we have a lot of fun!  We had some rain the first couple of days we were there.  Nothing horrible, but we were thankful for full days of sunshine from Wednesday on through Friday.

Our sweet little girl absolutely loved the pool and swimming with her floaties.  I love these puddle jumpers and wish I had bought one earlier in the summer.  Mary Frances truly flourished with them on and they allowed her to swim around the pool all by herself.  We had our own little fish!  She also enjoyed the sand and had fun making sand castles, etc.  The ocean was a different story.  Since we had some rain at the beginning of the week, the waves were much stronger and more turbulent than Mary Frances would have liked.  As the week wore on, the ocean seemed to settle down and by the last day Mary Frances enjoyed the ocean almost as much as the pool.

Sadly I never got pictures of everyone dressed up or looking halfway decent in their clothes vs bathing suits.  Oh well!  Next year!  We made a lot of fun memories and we are so thankful that Mom and Dad took us along.  Thank you for such a wonderful trip!  Can't wait until next year!
