Mary Frances Ballerina

This past week Mary Frances started ballet classes with her sweet friend, Campbell.  It has been a much anticipated and long awaited event in the Cahill household.  Long awaited equating to a month, which is a long time in the life of a two year old.
Love those sweet girls!
In preparation for her classes, we started talking about ballet, who her teacher would be and who would be in her class.  We have also been reading and watching a lot of Angelina Ballerina books and shows on Netflix.  As I have mentioned before, Mary Frances is slow to warm up to new things and we started talking about ballet to get her excited and ready for going to her first class without me participating with her.  That said, her daily uniform has come to look something like this:  always ballet slippers; usually a tutu, wings and crown; and sometimes an actual leotard.  Here is the result:
On the move
We also spend a lot of time watching her "ballet moves" which, up until her first day of class, have been completely made up :)  Love her!
A little blurry, but here is her "leg lift" :)
Anyways, we arrived to ballet while the first class was ending and Mary Frances was entranced watching the other girls dance.  She was busting at the seams to get in there and bust a move!  Finally her time came and she walked straight in and did not look back!  I was so proud of her and watching her with the four other little girls in her class has to be one of the cutest things I have ever seen!  Here are some precious pictures from her first ballet class.

Ready to go in!

She's off!
Doing a little free style during follow the leader
Since then we have been practicing everything she learned and adding her own little twist.  She has told absolutely everyone about her class and cannot wait until the next one!
So excited!
We love our little ballerina!

Love,
Katy
