Sip and See

This past weekend two of my best friends hosted a Sip and See for Margaret.  It was such a sweet time with family and friends.  Margaret is truly loved!

A little background on the hostesses.  Mary Catherine and Ashley (and their husbands) were the first couple friends Paul and I made after we were married.  Mary Catherine was one of my first friends when I started nursing school, almost eight years ago!  Paul and I spent a lot of time with her and her husband, Ben, that first year we were married.  The summer after my first year of nursing school, Ashley and her husband, Matt, moved to Atlanta from Louisiana.  Ashley and I had a mutual friend, Laura Anne, who "set us up," so to speak.  I still remember the Sutherland's and us meeting the Donald's for dinner at Twist and then a movie at Phipps.  We have been sweet friends ever since!

The Sip and See was also special for another reason.  Margaret was able to meet her namesake and great grandmother for the first time.  Margaret's middle name, Farr, was after Paul's maternal grandmother, Vera Farr Corbett.  She is an incredible woman and I am so glad Margaret was able to meet her and one day know what a wonderful heritage she has through Meemaw.

One last little touch, which was especially meaningful to me, was the bonnet and sweater Margaret wore.  Both were made by my grandmother, Frances (whom Mary Frances was named for), for my Aunt Sharon when she was born almost 63 years ago.  Aunt Sharon had saved these sweet keepsakes for her granddaughters; however, she has two grandsons and was so thoughtful as to send them to Margaret after she was born.  They are definitely a treasure and it was so sweet to put my daughter in something my grandmother made in love so many years ago.

I wish I had taken more pictures of the friends and family who came to see Margaret, but here are a few.  We are so thankful for all the love and support of our friends and family for our little bundle of joy!
