A Date

This past weekend, Paul so graciously watched Margaret so that Mary Frances and I could have a Mommy/Mary Frances date.  My big girl already gets the gist of "dates" and will mention things she sees that she would deem as date worthy, i.e. going to get ice cream (my favorite!) or going to the park, or dinner, etc.  We always have a great time together and she doesn't have to think long or hard about who she would like to take care of Margaret so she can go with just Paul or myself somewhere.

We started our date by going to the park.  I had hoped to walk around Chastain park, however Mary Frances wasn't feeling it, so we played on the playground instead. Always a good option!  It has been so fun for me to see Mary Frances branching out and exploring new ways to use her body to climb and be active.

After we played for a while, Mary Frances and I went to get pedicures.  This was a first for her and so fun to do together!  When I first mentioned the idea to her, she broke out in tears stating she didn't want a pedicure.  I was shocked since she loves for me to pain her nails.  Being the cautious child she is, she didn't want to do something she knew nothing about.  So, after talking it up a lot, we ventured into the nail salon and Mary Frances seemed completely happy picking out her nail colors: pink for her fingers and sparkly blue for her toes.  She had such a serious face while the lady painted her toes and fingers.  Mary Frances studied the women sitting in the spa chairs and all the women painting nails.  There were a lot of questions later :)
First mani/pedi!
Waiting for her nails to dry.  I love those cheeks!
The end product :)
We had such a fun morning together!  I love getting to spend time with my big girl!

Love,
Katy
