Snow Days!

Yes, that is snow days- plural!  Snow hit Atlanta Sunday night and we have had so much fun enjoying the snow.  I actually had to work on Monday and since hospitals don't take snow days, Children's was under a "Code White."  That meant I had to try my best to get there Monday morning or spend the night Sunday night.  I was not really eager to spend the night at work but Paul and I determined that was the safest thing to do.  Once it started snowing Sunday evening, we left for the hospital.  We actually barely made it there, having to go up a couple of big hills, and Paul didn't make it home in the car.  He had to abandon it about 3 1/2 miles away from my parents house and walk the rest of the way!  What an amazing husband to "tromps" through the snow after taking me to work.  He had a great sense of humor about it and you can read his story here.

While I was working away on Monday, mom, dad, Sally, Mary Frances and Paul had a great time playing in the snow.  Paul spent most of the day working, and Mary Frances enjoyed all of the extra attention (not in the snow :).  Mom, dad, Sally and Maggie had a great time sledding down the big hill in their backyard.  They would take off down the hill and Maggie would follow suit, chasing behind them.  Here are some pictures from their fun day!

I was a little afraid that I would not make it home Monday night seeing as how I didn't have a car (it was abandoned on the side of the road) and not sure if anyone could come pick me up.  Thankfully, our sweet neighbor, John, has a 4WD SUV and him and Paul came to pick me up and bring me home!  That meant I got to enjoy Snow Day #2 with Mary Frances and everyone else.  I did take her outside for a few minutes, just to get some snow pictures.  She didn't seem too impressed with the snow, though.  I tried to let her feel the white powder which she would just touch and look away.  Oh well!  I am sure next year will be a different story!  Sally, Paul and I did get to sled a little in the afternoon and we had a great time.  Maggie had a blast again :)

Sweet Maggie still enjoying the snow!
Today is Snow Day #3 and we are starting to get a little stir crazy.  Ready to get some errands done, work going on the house, etc.  Also ready to get my car back, which is still abandoned!  Tried to pick it up yesterday and was not able to get it up the hill...  Maybe today?!

Enjoy your snow days!
Love,
Katy
