Well, it has been a little over a month since our house fire and we are still out of our house. It is easy to forget the severity of the situation and just long to be back "home." While we are enjoying living with my family, their house is not the home that Paul and I have made together since we moved in three and a half years ago. This past weekend was especially beautiful! I was meeting our contractor and some other people at the house on Friday and when I pulled up, they had the front and back doors open. It made me long to be back to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather in our own home! Soon, enough...
Anyways, the point of this blog is not about me wanting to be back home. It is about "taking heart" in the Lord! A sweet friend of mine gave me a CD last week from Family Worship Seeds. This is worship music intended for the family to listen to together and learn scripture, which they have put to music. Basically to teach your children to memorize scripture. I have always been very "music" oriented in the sense that I associate time and things with songs. Maybe this is one reason I love country music :) On Sundays, it is usually the music and words that speak the most to me and remind me "to trust in the Lord" or "shake off my guilty fears" etc. The CD my friend gave us is "The Power of Encouragement" and my favorite song is number four, John 16:33. In this verse, Jesus says, "I have told you these things so that in me, you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But TAKE HEART; I have overcome the world." What sweet words. We know we will have trouble, but Jesus has already overcome the world. Period. I don't think that requires any more explanation from me. I just hope that those words are as comforting and encouraging to you as they are to me!
Love,
Katy
