This time last week we were returning from our first "family of three" vacation! We went to Savannah for an extended weekend and stayed at a great
B&B. As I said, this was the first time that Paul, Mary Frances and myself had gone anywhere just the three of us. Since Mary Frances still takes two naps a day and goes to bed at 7 pm every night, we knew it wouldn't be the kind of vacation Paul and I were used to. However, we took advantage of The Little Lady's sleep schedule to rest and relax and meander around the Historic District of Savannah and we had a great time! Some of our highlights were going to Forsyth Park, taking a
walking tour of the Historic Homes in Savannah, an afternoon trip to Tybee Island, dinner at
Belfords, and being together for five whole days.

Mary Frances did really well with all of the travel, altered schedules and hanging in her stroller while we walked around. She was usually the center of attention wherever we went. One morning while we were eating breakfast at our bed and breakfast, the waitress walked in and Mary Frances says, "hi" and started waving to her. Very sweet! When we ate dinner at Belfords, the table beside us was having some sort of celebration and would occasionally clap. Mary Frances would turn around and clap with them :)
Like I said, we really enjoyed our walking tour of Savannah's historic homes. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide who had been involved in the restoration of many of the homes. We went inside one home, the Davenport House, and loved seeing all of the detail of the house, crown moulding, etc. We went into the family dining room and our guide was showing us the antique highchair and looked at us, saying "put her in it!" So, I put Mary Frances in the highchair and she immediately started to put on a show for all of the people in our tour (most of whom were our parents ages or older :). Then, our tour guide proceeded to tell us to take a picture! So I did :) You must also know that there was a sign at the entrance of the house the said no photography...

On Saturday we decided to go to Tybee Island for Mary Frances to hang out on the beach. She had been to the beach with my family when she was nine weeks old, so I am sure she did not remember it. We put her down once we got there and she wanted to take off walking. So we walked to the ocean, which she did not know what to think about! The waves and noise seemed to frighten her. She was content to sit in Paul's lap and even explore the water with him but when she was by herself would get upset. Thankfully she didn't seem to be bothered by the sand and enjoyed playing by our towel with her beach toys.

We were thankful for our time together and are looking forward to our next family vacation!
