Our Little Lady turned one yesterday! And what a little lady she is! I am amazed more and more every day by what she says and does. She is really catching on to a lot and is quite the little sponge. Yesterday I laid her on the changing table to put her sunscreen on before her pool party. After putting it on her face, I gave her the face stick and she started rubbing it on her face (with the cap on)! She knew exactly what to do with it.
Here is what is has been up to this past month:
- she has taken off walking holding onto your hands and can walk independently with her walking toys
- she loves to stack things, mainly putting the rings on her stacking toy or putting her stacking cups inside one another
- Mary Frances is pulling up on everything and cruising around
- she has 5 teeth
- she mimics us verbally, copying the sounds we make and the inflection of our voice
- when you ask her "How old are you?" she will hold out her left index finger (she picks and chooses the times she complies with your requests)
- Mary Frances has started having little tantrums where she will cry and throw her head back (not the best one but it comes with the territory)
- if you hand her a shoe she will try to put them on her feet
- she gives the best hugs!
Mary Frances' words at 1 year are: dada, dog, mama, bottle, book, toe, and hi. She knows the animal noises for dog and cow :)

| So proud to be the birthday girl! |
Mary Frances is such a sweet little thing. Her personality is really beginning to blossom. She loves being the center of attention and basks in the glow of the spot light. She is like her daddy that way. She also knows how to put on the charm and will act bashful with men. Watch out daddy! While Mary Frances continues to be our social butterfly, I can also see how she is starting to become a little more aware of where we are. For instance, we have started taking a music class once a week. She loves to explore the room but will stop to find me, or occasionally come back to my lap, just to make sure I am there. She is usually happy where ever she is, even if she cries when we first walk out of the room. She cries the most when I put her down for her naps. The little lady just has so much fun playing she doesn't want me to leave her alone to rest! After a little crying, she usually stops and plays in her crib for 20 - 30 minutes before she lays down to sleep. What a busy little bee.
