One reason for starting this blog was to document sweet Mary Frances' life and for me to be able to remember her antidotes that are special to Paul and me. The other day I was telling a friend about some of the fun things Mary Frances is doing now and she told me to write them down. So this is me, writing them down to share with you and for me to remember (and possibly pull out down the road at her rehearsal dinner).
Mary Frances' vocalization has been exploding lately. I am sure it will only continue to do grow. It is fun to see the words that she picks up on Paul and me saying.
- When she is laying on the changing table, I will ask her "where are your toes?" to which she grabs her toes and says "tow!" She is so proud of herself!
- When we sit down in her nursery chair, she will point to her bookshelf and say "dook!" She loves to read!
- She has also started pointing to and saying "dottle" when I come into her room with a bottle. Too bad the bottles are about to go bye-bye!
- We have been learning some animal noises. The most consistent ones are "ruff" (high pitched) and "Mmmm" for "moo."
- We have been reading "5 Little Monkeys" (thanks Laura Anne!) and when we come to the part that says "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!" we will shake our finger and say it in a deep, funny voice. Mary Frances thinks this is hilarious. This morning when I pulled that book off the shelf she immediately started shaking her hand :) We might have a bossy little girl on our hands!
Mary Frances has also started showing more affection. We will ask her to give us a hug and she buries her head in our chests or lays her head on our shoulders. So sweet! When we ask her to give Maggie a hug, she lays her head on the floor next to Maggie :) What a doll!
So here at the little moments and things I want to store up in my heart to remember forever! We are looking forward to her birthday on Saturday and I cannot wait to post about it!
Love,
Katy
