A Family Affair

The fall has been sprinkled with several family activities, both immediate and extended (ie grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.).  Mary Frances loves her family and is always talking about all of its members, often going through the list like a record on repeat.  This post is dedicated to some of our fall highlights! (Warning, there are a lot of pictures!)

Pace Fall Fair:
The weekend of my 10 year highschool reunion, we went back to my alma matter and enjoyed their annual fall fair.  Mary Frances really wasn't old enough to really enjoy all of the activities they had to offer, but it was a beautiful afternoon to walk around outside and enjoy the pretty campus.

Cagles Family Farm:
One Saturday we went to Cagles Family Farm in Crabapple, GA to pick a pumpkin and go on a hay ride.  My mom was the only one who could come with us, but we had a great time looking at the pumpkins, riding on the hayride, petting the animals, etc.  I think this will definitely have to become a family tradition!

Family Reunion:
We spent one beautiful November weekend in the middle of Georgia at a state park for a long over due family reunion.  We got together with my mom's sister and her family.  Both of my cousins each have a little boy around Mary Frances' age, so it was fun to see them interact together.  Mary Frances had a great time, as did all of us, and we agreed it would be the perfect spot for future reunions.  One plus was that our cabin was dog friendly, so we got to bring sweet Maggie with us.  I think she really liked being part of a family vacation!

Happy Birthday, Lauren!
Paul's sister turned Sweet 16 on November 19th.  She is beautiful inside and out and we are thankful for the example she will set for Mary Frances.

The Nutcracker:
Lauren is also a member of the Perimeter Ballet company and we got to see her in their annual Nutcracker performance.  I have been watching Lauren dance for 6 plus years and it has been fun to watch her grow in her dance skills and confidence.  The show was lovely. What made it even more special was that we got to watch it with special visitors.  Paul's cousin and wife (who is also one of my close friends), along with their daughter, Maddie, were there watching and visiting from England.  Apparently Maddie loves ballerinas and very much enjoyed watching the girls dance.

A special play date:
The day after the Nutcracker, Amber and Maddie came over for a play date and lunch.  What a special treat since we haven't seen them in 15 months!  The last time Maddie and Mary Frances were together, they looked like this -
Maddie (21 months) and Mary Frances (7 weeks)
Now they look like this!
Mary Frances (18 months) and Maddie 3 years old!
The only way I could get Mary Frances in the picture was
to have her sit in my lap.  Please excuse my appearance :)
What a special time together with sweet friends!  Thank you, Amber, for driving all the way to our house so we could see you more!

Love,
Katy
