Celebrating 30 and Dads

A quick break in the chronicle of our England trip to talk about a few special people in our lives!  June is a busy month for us in the sense that this year we celebrated Paul's 30th Birthday, Father's Day, and Mary Frances and my dad's birthday within a four day period.  Sure is a lot of cake :)

First thing's first, my sweet husband turned the big 3-0 this past Thursday.  I was so glad that we got to celebrate his special day together.  Now, he did go to work, just not for very long and when he got home he got to do one of his favorite things, sit on the couch and watch a documentary!  (We don't have cable, just netflix, so this is as good as it gets in the Cahill household)  Once Mary Frances woke up from her nap, she helped me make Paul's birthday cake.  Oh, she was so excited too!  She told me, "I put cake in mouth all by myself!"  The girl sure loves her some cake.  That night I had arranged a babysitter to come and Paul and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Haven, in Brookhaven.  It was a beautiful evening and we enjoyed sitting outside listening to the live music and people watching.  Sadly, we didn't take any pictures Thursday.

Friday night, we went to the Cahill's to celebrate Paul's birthday and Father's day as the Cahill's are going to an out of town wedding today.  We had a great time hanging out, talking and eating.  Mary Frances always loves getting attention and seeing her Mimi, Grandfather and Lauren.  She especially loves Josh, so I am glad he was there before we left.  Here are some family pictures from the night.  I wish I had gotten a picture of Paul with Mary Frances and Pat.  We'll have to get one next time we are together.

This morning, we met my family for breakfast before church to celebrate Father's day with my dad.  We had a great time together.  Mary Frances loved sitting between her daddy and Papa at J. Christopher's.

Paul and I are so thankful for both of our fathers and the example they set for us growing up.  They are both godly men and put in so much time and energy into raising their children.  I can not remember a time my dad wasn't able to be there for me, encouraging me and cheering me on in gymnastics, softball, school, etc.  I know Paul would be able to say the same for his dad.  We are thankful that Mary Frances will know them and their influence in her life.  I can say all of these same things about Paul as a father, too.  I am so glad that Mary Frances has a daddy like him.

And, tomorrow a certain someone turns two!  Cannot wait to celebrate Mary Frances and my dad on their special day!

Happy Father's Day to Paul, Papa and Grandfather!  We love you!

Love,
Katy
