Monday, our sweet girl turned two! And what a two year old she is! She is a miss independent, "I do by myself," fun loving, talkative little girl who knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to tell you so. Two is going to be so much fun!
We had a fun week of celebration which started right after the birthday girl woke up Monday morning. Paul and I had put together a pink retro kitchen for her birthday present which we accessorized with plates, cups, bowls, and silverware. Once Mary Frances woke up, we took her out to see her new kitchen and she was SO excited! Every morning she wakes up and asks to play with her kitchen. So fun.

After playing with her kitchen for a bit, Mary Frances and I took a special breakfast date to Dunkin Donuts. The girl LOVED her donuts and gobbled up every bite. Now, every time we pass the store, which is often, she says, "Look! There is Dunkin Donuts!"

We then spent her birthday morning at the zoo with Gigi. Mary Frances loved walking around to see all of the animals. However, she mostly loved just walking around. It was a beautiful morning for the zoo! Sadly, we didn't get many pictures with the birthday girl. Part of exerting her independence includes refusing to take or at least smile for pictures.

It seems that my birthday girl was too excited to nap as she was awake in her bed for a good two hours, talking, singing, throwing animals out, etc. Finally I decided to get her out while I finished decorating her and Papa's birthday cake and then we headed over to Gigi and Papa's house for a joint birthday celebration. We even had presents for Paul to open as his birthday was just four days earlier. We had a great time with family and are thankful for Mary Frances and Papa.
